Fire never creates energy. It spends savings.
How burning works in fisika, and why a log that burns out has simply run out of stored sunlight.

That is the first law of thermodynamics, and the one our worlds are built on. We make games where the simulation is the game: nothing happens unless something in the world pays for it.

Our first game

A voxel world that runs on one law. Fire spreads by spending what the forest stored. Water goes where the ground lets it. Materials change when heat, cold or force changes them.
And magic is physics. You carry a ring that draws energy from the world around you, and every draw leaves a mark people can see: frost, a shade, withered crops, still air.
The name is a promise about every game we make, voxels or not: the world keeps its own rules, and so do we.
I.
The world is the game. Fire, water, weather and people run on rules rather than scripts, so what you do has consequences nobody wrote by hand.
II.
Every effect is paid for by something in the world. Heat, light and motion all come from somewhere, and that place is poorer for it.
III.
Our simulations are deterministic. A world can be replayed from a snapshot and the record of what happened in it, which keeps the rules honest.
